Monmouth Women’s Festival is held annually to mark International Women’s Day (8 March). The purpose of the day is to celebrate the achievements of women locally and internationally and to continue the campaign for gender parity.
The global theme for International Women’s Day 2018 is #PressforProgress Every day, positive gains are made, and the strong and global movement of advocacy, activism and support continues. But the World Economic Forum’s 2017 Global Gender Gap Report tells us that gender parity is still over 200 years away. Clearly, there is still much to be done and we can all play a purposeful part in ‘Pressing for Progress’ while celebrating how much has already been achieved.
Do join us for any or all of the events we have planned in the exciting programme for 2018.
We look forward to welcoming you. International Women’s Day (8th March) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
